In a society that is becoming more and more digitized, virtualized, and personalized, we are turning to digital tools such as Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, and Flipboard to provide the knowledge and skills that are needed to do our jobs daily. The time has come when the organization no longer is the sole provider for employee development. Also, due to the rapidly accelerating society we live in, most organizations cannot keep up with the widening skills gap crisis. One of the only solutions to solving this problem is through a partnership between the employee and the organization to support a personalized Digital learning network (PDLN).
